The Grant County Development Authority
can help expedite, at the county level, the process of obtaining
permits, variances and tax incentives for new or enlarging
businesses. The CGDA works closely with county officials
to ensure that the process is a smooth one.
There are regional incentives in the
form of loan programs that for Grant County are handled
through the Region
8 Planning and Development Council.
State incentives are also available
and the GCDA can assist businesses with the application
process. The West Virginia Economic Development Authority
provides direct loans, loan insurance and capital asset
acquisition programs. The WV
Development Office oversees administration of the Governor's
Guaranteed Workforce Program, which subsidizes training
and wages for workers.
